This is the beautiful Loadpit Beck, which runs from Eldwick and through Shipley Glen, emptying into the River Aire. A load or lode is a vein or ore, in particular in the iron industry which makes you wonder where the name orignated from especially when the local area around Baildon Moor is more associated with coal extraction.
The video below shows my favourite spot along the beck in Shipley Glen woods and I often come here to watch the Dippers, listen to the birdsong or just the sound of the water. It is the ideal place to just sit and collect your thoughts or to simply be alone with nature.
This video is from early this morning, no Dippers were present today, probably preoccupied with bringing up their young, still, as always, I come away from my visit feeling a lot better for it.
