Nature's Gift

Writer: lfjedwardslfjedwards

I thought I would break with tradition and give you a little taste of poetry, it is my first attempt at writing a poem and I have received some wonderful feedback when I posted it yesterday on other platforms. It’s from my heart and those that know me will hopefully recognise how much it embodies what I’m all about. I may decide to do more if my creative juices continue to flow. Enjoy!

Nature’s Gift

You give me strength in my darkest hours from the call of a bird to the smell of a flower.

You’re always around me, your presence assuring, easing my mind, you stop my tears from pouring.

The clumsy bumblebee, it will not sting, gathering nectar on a welcome Spring.

Hugging a tree, in awe at its majesty, feeling its strength, it takes nothing back from me.

Cool is the rain as it touches my face, the assuring feel of the sun’s embrace.

You’re my constant companion, my guide through life’s avenues, how I wish others would appreciate your value.

I thank you for all that you give to me, the greatest gift one could ever receive.

My selfless companion like no other one, you’ll stay by my side until my time is done.
