Our nature in peril

The beloved red squirrel being wiped out by the pox and those murderers on horseback pursuing the fox.

Developments near sand dunes and a new access road, which threatens the home of the natterjack toad.

Our seabirds are in crisis from a number of threats, habitat loss, contaminates, overfishing with nets.

Where are our songbirds that used to wake us in the morning? their calls are now silent when the day is dawning.

A land once buzzing with the bumblebee but the loss of our meadows means you seldom do see.

Changes in climate affecting migration, summer visitors threatened with poor weather and starvation.

The culling of the badger and the coursing of the hare, despicable humans, who simply don’t care.

Our rivers are dying, choked with pollution, investment not dividends is the solution.

Our assault needs to stop before it’s too late, before we lose everything, nature can’t wait.

Very sad but truthful...if only humans could live in harmony with nature as they once did. I always think we have a lot to learn from the aboriginal people of the world who have always been in tune with the environment.

Yes, many native peoples have similar respect for nature and the environment, lessons we could learn from them.
