Let me take you back to the Spring of 2020. You may remember this for a couple of reasons, the first being that we were a few weeks into our first Covid lockdown and secondly, the amazing weather we experienced, it seemed to be warm and sunny for the most of the season.
I thought I would quickly show you how different things are this Spring, in particular, I was reminded yesterday by my Facebook page of a photograph I took of the stunning Horse Chestnut blossom (to be revisited in a later blog) back in late April 2020 and I was astonished at how far behind the blossom is this Spring.
Below are two photographs of the same Horse Chestnut tree blosson, the one on the left is from Spring 2020 and the photo on the right was taken today, the same tree at the top of Higher Coach Road, Baildon.
Let's hope the warm and sunny conditions return soon to give Spring a boost, our pollinators need it.
I've got 2 rosemary bushes outside my front door. One flowered weeks ago. The other only just flowered this week.
